Revision rhinoplasty is a secondary rhinoplasty surgery performed because the desired result is not obtained from the rhinoplasty surgery. The purpose of performing this operation is to improve the elements that were missing in the previous application or caused deformation. With revision aesthetics, the nose is restructured considering the needs of the patient.
In the revisions made due to the reduction of the nose more than necessary or the removal of structures such as cartilage and bone more than necessary in the previous operation, it may be aimed to transform the nose into its old structure.
In Which Situations Is Revision Nose Aesthetics Performed?
Revision rhinoplasty becomes a necessity with the following situations in previous rhinoplasty surgery:
- Reducing the nostrils more than necessary and the patient having difficulty in breathing,
- Depressions in the nose after aesthetics,
- Failure to correct the defects as required, especially the nasal bridge not being able to correct the desired degree,
- Taking more cartilages than necessary,
- Lifting the tip of the nose more than planned,
- Nose tip falling over time,
- Inability to adapt the nose to the size of the face,
- The emergence of an artificial appearance that is far from ideal.
- The two most common conditions at the end of the operations that require revision are called nasal collapse and nasal tip drop.
