Eyebrow Transplantation in Turkey | The face of the person, which has a window to the outside, directly affects both his social life and his psychology.

An aesthetic appearance occurs when all the elements on the face, such as the nose, lips, eyebrows, form an integrity. 

However, not everyone may have thick and healthy eyebrows. While some people’s eyebrows may be congenital, some people lose their eyebrows over time for various reasons.

Sometimes, due to genetic reasons, sometimes due to various diseases, sometimes due to traumatic reasons such as wounds and burns, hair loss and deformities may occur. Hair transplant operation is performed in such cases in order to give the eyebrows fullness and shape.

Like other hair roots in the body, occasional hair loss may occur on the eyebrows. Eyebrows that directly affect the appearance of the facial contours negatively affect the appearance of the person when it is sparse and shapeless or when it is completely shed.

The main causes of eyebrow loss can be listed as follows:

• Contours or permanent make-up procedures that have been applied unsuccessfully,
• Changes in stress and living conditions,
• Burns, accidents and traumas,
• Genetic factors,
• Problems with thyroid,
• Goiter disease,
• Unconscious eyebrow removal procedures,
• Inadequate and unbalanced nutrition,

• Some drugs and methods used in cancer treatment,
• Side effects of the drugs used.

Spills that occur due to the above reasons and gaps caused by these spills can be permanently eliminated with eyebrow transplantation.

Before the eyebrow transplant Operation

Before the procedure, the factor causing the spills should be determined. If the spills are caused by a disease, this disease should be treated. If this is not the case, the doctor decides which method to use and how many grafts (tissue containing the hair follicles) will be required during the operation with a detailed analysis and various health tests. In the meantime, it is important for the patient to share his expectations with his doctor.

Afterwards, the area to be transplanted is drawn with a pencil, and the most suitable eyebrow shape is rehearsed for the patient’s face type.

Eyebrow transplantation operation is carried out by FUE or DHI methods. With these techniques, it is possible to obtain a natural look on the eyebrows without leaving any traces.

The eyebrow transplant operation is performed under local anesthesia in a hospital setting and takes approximately 3 hours.

Apart from these, there are some points that the patient should pay attention to before the eyebrow transplant operation:

• The intake of blood-thinning drugs such as aspirin and vitamins should be stopped for at least 1 week from the operation,
• If alcohol and cigarettes are used, these substances should be left at least 1 week before the procedure,
• An outfit that can be worn and removed like a shirt on the day of the procedure should be preferred,
• If there is any medication used, the doctor should be informed about this before the operation.

Although eyebrow transplantation is not as difficult as hair transplantation, it is necessary to be careful before and after the procedure. It is very important to follow the doctor’s recommendations in all these processes.

Eyebrow transplant Operation Process

Before starting the eyebrow transplant operation, local anesthesia is applied to the region where the procedure will be performed. Thus, no pain is felt during and after the procedure. Then, if not determined before the operation, the region to be used as a donor is determined.

In eyebrow transplantation, healthy hair, usually located in the nape part, is chosen as the donor area. Other areas in the body may also be donors, but especially in women, because the body hair is thin, the most healthy donor area is the nape.

The number of grafts to be removed from the donor area can vary from 50 to 500 grafts, depending on the needs of the patient.

In the process that takes approximately 2-3 hours, the roots taken from the nape region are separated one by one with the help of very fine-tipped needles (punches) without making an incision with FUE or DHI technique. The roots to be planted in the eyebrow region must be single root grafts. For a natural and beautiful view, the direction of the channels to be opened in the planting area should be determined very precisely. For this reason, the channels are opened with a lateral slit, and then the collected grafts are sown to the opened channels at an angle of 10-15 degrees.

After the eyebrow transplant operation

After the eyebrow transplant operation, the person is discharged on the same day and can return to his daily life quickly. A general crusting occurs in the planted area after the procedure and this is quite a natural situation.

As in hair transplantation, approximately 2 weeks after the eyebrow transplant operation, shocks appear on the eyebrows. This condition continues until the 3rd month and after this process, the eyebrows begin to grow again. Eyebrows take their final shape at the end of the 7th month.

Apart from this information, there are some points that patients should pay attention to to achieve successful results after eyebrow transplantation. These can be listed as follows:

• Attention should be paid to the hygiene of the planted area,
• Medicines prescribed by the doctor and care products recommended by the doctor should be used regularly,
• Eyebrow – forehead – eye areas should be protected from all kinds of impacts,
• In case of crusting, eyebrows should not be itchy; shells should not be plucked,
  Chemical products should not be applied on the cultivated area,
• Heavy sports should not be done during the first week,
• The first 15 days after the operation should not be exposed to direct sunlight, if it is necessary to go out in the sun, the planting area should be protected.

In addition, since the hair follicles taken from the nape are used in the eyebrow transplant operation, the tendency to grow may be observed in the newly planted eyebrows. However, this is a temporary situation and these roots adapt to the place they are transplanted in a short time and take the characteristic features of natural eyebrows.
